VIEWING THE PROTOTYPE

There are three ways to display the prototype you will be evaluating.
The ideal is a, but b and c are also fine.

SETTING UP THE SURVEY AND AUDIO RECORDING

You should have:

  1. The prototype open on a device
  2. The survey and an audio recording method open, ideally on a different device
    * You can use a site such as http://vocaroo.com to record your voice in the browser (free) and email me the url when finished
BROWSER SET-UP CHOICE
  1. "I have opened the app/page on a mobile device" (Android app or browser iphone, etc) Browser window set-up should look like this
A is the Vocaroo recording website window (if needed). B is the typefrom survey referenced below.
  2. OR

  3. "I have opened the app/page on a PC/ipad/laptop" Browser window set-up should look like this
A is the prototype sized to a mobile device form factor. B is the typefrom survey referenced below. C is the Vocaroo recording website window (if needed)
  4. * It is important to size Window A to be similar to a mobile phone form factor or the layout will be 'broken'

STARTING THE SURVEY

  1. Begin audio recording
  2. Go to: https://jay.typeform.com/to/EhVS5c
  3. Use the think aloud procedure as you work your way through the survey.

  4. "THINK ALOUD" PROCEDURE

You may have used this method before or be familiar with it. As you begin the survey & audio recording, please read the task aloud and state any thoughts that come into your mind as you progress. An example of this, let's say... making some coffee, would be as such:

"Ok, I go into my kitchen and open the freezer."
" I take out the beans and then bring them over to my coffee grinder"
"After putting some beans in the grinder, I turn it on"
    etc...

  5. When you are finished, please email the audio recording or send a link of it to me.
